Free-flow (number-plate recognition): pay online as a guest or with a prepaid account (minimum £20), with the app, or on the automated phone line 0151 453 6561.

If you don't pay

Unpaid Toll Charge: £30 plus the toll if paid within 14 days of the 'relevant date' (the second day after crossing), £60 plus toll between 14 and 28 days, and £100 plus toll after 28 days (byelaws in the Rixton and Warburton Bridge Order 2024).

Good to know

Vehicles of 3 tonnes or more need a permit requested at least 6 days in advance (toll for them not stated). Free-flow tolling began at 12:01am on Wednesday 5 November 2025 after the bridge was rebuilt. The 2024 Order lets the £1 maximum rise each April by CPI minus 1%. Penalty amounts come from the Order's byelaws; the operator's pages say only that the charge 'increases over time'.
